Good Idea. I Wonder if they've given any thought to separating out the seasons like this.

I think the youth season is great. ODNR has just missed when it should be. In my opinion it should not be peak rut or the weekend before regular gun season. Ken Taylor is right about driving deer out and making it more difficult for adult hunters. As a parent I get very excited about setting my son up in the right spot to get his deer; probably more excited than I do for myself. It is a good thing but if they moved it up a couple of weeks it would still accomplish getting kids involved in hunting and not at the sacrifice of other hunters. It may also make it more enjoyable for the little ones since it "should" be warmer.

Taylor:

Chill. It's not me. Keep in mind there are less and less hunters, and less kids taking up the sport every year. The state is doing everything it can to keep hunting going.

I CAN FEEL COMFORTABLE IN SPEAKING FOR THE MAJORITY OF HUNTERS IN @ LEAST 3 COUNTIES SURROUNDING MY COUNTY OF KNOX
CHANGE THE YOUTH SEASON ( YOU HAVE LITERALLY DETROYED OUR REGULAR GUN SEASON) AND PLEASE CHANGE THE AGE LIMIT TO ACTUAL YOUTH MAYBE 15 AND UNDER. I HEAR THE CONSTANT COMPLAINT BY ALMOST ALL HUNTERS TALKING ABOUT ALL THIER HUNTING SPOTS BEING DRIVEN OUT BEFORE THE GUN SEASON BY ALL
THE HIGH SCHOOL KIDS AND YOU CALL THAT YOUTH SEASONS , YOU ARE WORKING ON DETROYING THE EXCITEMENT OF GUN SEASON AND THE LOSS OF ALOT OF HUNTERS WHO WILL AND HAVE GOTTEN TIRED OF WHAT HAS HAPPENED SINCE YOU STARTED THE YOUTH SEASON.
IT IS STRUCTURED TERRIBLY AND HAS DISRUPTED A STRONG TRADITION ( GUN SEASON OPENING DAY ) PLEASE TAKE THIS ISSUE SERIOUSLY
