Cross Country Cyclists Cross Paths Crossing Region
TweetI have a Google alert set up on my home page to let me know when Youngstown is mentioned on a blog.
Today, two separate cross country trekkers showed up at nearly the same time.
First up is the Pedaling Professor, riding from west to east across the country for Elijah’s Promise. He visited Canal Fulton on day 42 of his trek, with ten days to go until he reaches his Portsmouth New Hampshire destination. Let’s give him a big congratulations and visit his charity’s website.
Then there’s Alan Ferriday’s Blog on Vox. His group is also going to Portsmouth ( What’s in Portsmouth?) and they stayed here in Boardman. If they were on 224, I believe we saw them- We pased three bikers yesterday who were heavily laden with gear. If not, then there was at least one other group of trekkers here yesterday, and I’d like to hear from you.
Also, my brother Matt was in town yesterday and he is planning on taking the Great Allegheny Passage from Pittsburgh to Washington later tis summer. This collection of trails uses a Rail to Trail to provide a regional trail system.
Good Luck to all the bikers in our region this summer!
