December Hikes at Mill Creek

- Double Loop: Sunday,December 7th, 2 PM: Explore the Lily Pond area by circling it twice: first along the shoreline and then along old “One-way Drive.” Meet at the Lily Pond. Moderate difficulty, 1.5 miles.
- Long Night Moon, Friday, Dec.12th, 8 PM:The full moon should light your way on this hike to Pennsylvania and back! Meet at Stavich Bicycle Trail at the eastern end of East Liberty Street in Lowellville. Moderate difficulty due to length and hill, 4 miles.
- Summer’s Leftovers, Sunday Dec. 14th, 2 PM: Although their colorful petals are gone, wildflower skeletons still remain and can be appreciated for their quiet, subtle beauty. Meet at MetroParks Farm. Easy rating, 1 mile.
- A New Season, Sunday Dec.21st 2PM:Celebrate the first day of winter and learn about nature and the winter solstice on this hike around Lake Cohasset. Meet at Ford Nature Center. Moderate difficulty, 3 miles..
- Newport’s Islands, Sunday December 28th 2PM: Work off the Holiday Meals and learn about the classic seven islands on this hike around Mill Creek Park’s largest lake. Meet at Newport Wetlands. Difficult rating due to length, 5 miles.
