Eco-Industrial Green Belt Creation in NE Ohio

A new blog just joined the local scene, and if the first post is any indication, it’s gonna be a doozy.

Debra Weaver is posting at Youngstown Moxie II . Her fist post ties together several recent articles from Dr. Linkon, Treez please, Shout Youngstown and more to advocate for the support of a Youngstown based Eco-Industrial Incubator.

Long time readers of Steel v Valley Outdoors should recognize that one of our original Motivations in starting this site was to help promote an outdoor lifestyle as a means of economic revitalization. Of course we support any progress towards this.

I’m Gona get all Disney on this Idea:  Not just an industrial park making money recycling consumer products. Can you imagine Kayaking to a Green Tech park along the Mahoning River?

Checked out Ms. Weaver’s site. Great ideas — a green Youngstown? What a a real positive thing. Wonder if anyone has considered approaching a certain in-the-news-a-lot-lately local philanthropist about possibly extending financial assistance for these ideas or for the Wick Park project.
