ODNR and Gander Mountain Help You Attract Wildlife
COLUMBUS, OH – The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Forestry will team with Gander Mountain to help Ohio property owners attract deer, turkey, song birds and more to their woodlots.
Gander Mountain in Reynoldsburg, 2644 Taylor Road SW, will host a free, two-hour ODNR Division of Forestry seminar at 10 a.m. on February 28. Ohio foresters will explain which trees and shrubs attract and provide food for wildlife. They will also discuss ways to create cover and travel corridors for wildlife, and other woodland improvement practices.
“By planting or encouraging the appropriate tree species, woodland owners can significantly increase the amount of wildlife attracted to their property,” said David Lytle, chief of the ODNR Division of Forestry. “We are pleased to partner with Gander Mountain in offering this and other habitat improvement seminars.”

Woodland owners who are excited about welcoming more wildlife onto their property may need additional assistance selecting the proper types of trees for particular locations and soil characteristics.
