PUT-IN-BAY, Ohio, Aug. 28 /PRNewswire/ — Although summer is almost over, there is still plenty of time to plan a late-summer or fall getaway at Put-in-Bay and Middle Bass Island, Ohio.

Historical

Historical Weekend/Parade (Sept. 11 – 13) - Activities include a Boy Scout Camporee, Grand Parade, Art in the Park, vintage baseball, a military encampment, musket and cannon firing demonstrations, Gibraltar Island/Stone Laboratory open house and more.

7th Annual Island Wine Festival (Oct. 3) - Representatives from wineries across the United States will be on hand for festival goers to sample more than 250 award-winning wines. The festival takes place 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. under the Big Top downtown in DeRivera Park.

Family Fun

Oktoberfest (Oct. 10 – 11) - Held in DeRivera Park, this traditional German festival features live German music and polkas, as well as authentic food including beverages and desserts prepared by island businesses.

Halloween at the Bay (Oct. 24) - Hundreds of people come to the island in costume for Halloween at the Bay. The downtown taverns decorate with a theme for Halloween and some establishments have costume contests with cash prizes.

Sports

Miller Boat Line 5K & 1-Mile Family Fun Walk (Sept. 26) – Join more than 450 runners and walkers in a challenging race around the shoreline of the island. Registration starts at 8 a.m., and the events start at 9:15 a.m.

Packages

Waterfront Getaway Package – Put-in-Bay offers a new weekday getaway package that includes lodging, a wine dinner for two and two roundtrip Miller Ferry tickets. This all-inclusive package is $149 (a savings of $75) and is available Aug. 30 – Sept. 24, Sundays through Thursdays.
