Tinker’s Creek Nature Hike

Event part of the family-friendly Natural Areas Discovery Series
STREETSBORO, OHIO – Ohio’s wetlands are a marvel of unique plant communities, wildlife inhabitants and fragile landscape. Visitors are invited to join one of two wetland hikes at Tinker’s Creek State Nature Preserve, part of the Natural Areas Discovery Series, on Saturday, May 30 at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. in Portage County.
The naturalist-led hikes will focus on the remarkable wetland complex found at Tinker’s Creek which provides high quality habitat for a number of wildlife, waterfowl and native plant species. Visitors will traverse the Seven Ponds trail as well as checking out the preserve’s new eagle nest observation deck.
Tinker’s Creek State Nature Preserve, a 786-acre site, features extensive wetlands and excellent wildlife viewing. For event information, call 440-632-3010.

Children who hike with their families during the special events and throughout the year can receive credit towards the ODNR Explore the Outdoors Hike a Trail activity. Explore the Outdoors is a hands-on family program that gives Ohio children the opportunity to reunite with nature, improve their physical and emotional health and discover the rewards of becoming environmental stewards.
